Fresh!

So sweet to be back in the bosom and hanging with finefolk! First week of classes, and we began again. And again. And again.

Newsflash: I’m a sucker for New Year Resolutions. By that, i mean i’m intoxicated by the idea of them, you know, the hope and anticipation of starting again and getting another opportunity to achieve all those things i’m yearning to do, e.g. save the world, get better at blogging, finish writing that book i started and going “raw” etc.

But at some point early on, in those pregnant with prospect days of January, i lose steam. Somehow, come January 3rd (!) i end up winding myself into a writhing awkward mess, feeling hopeless and like a failure for “breaking” one or two. Or all of them.

The thing with newness however, is that we can always begin again. And again. And – i’ll stop doing that.  As long as our intention is clear, we are making progress.

We explored this idea on the mat, approaching every posture as if it were funky fresh. Just like the first time. So what if we don’t get to the “final finish” of  Utthita Hasta Padangustasana, or if  the Bakasana “we could do yesterday but it’s not happening today!” Every day, year, moment (etc.) is different.

We are constantly evolving. Transforming. Achieving. So rather than get stuck in the doldrums, liberate yourself with the possibility of starting again.

So, your reminder:

You have a choice. Many choices.

You can always begin again. (etc.) At any time.

You can welcome in anything you want and create the life of your dreams.
